Amanda Bynes loves BMW

Actress Amanda Bynes and her dog Charlie in front of her 2008 BMW X5. "I wanted a BMW for my 16th birthday," Amanda Bynes, 22, told the May issue of Seventeen Magazine. "But my parents were like No....And they got me a used Honda Accord with my own money. They were like, This is what your brother and sister had. And I was so offended, so I took it out on them. Looking back, I realize that it's a good thing they didn't give me that car because I got into two accidents!"



By "two accidents" I assume she meant with the used Honda Accord, because Amanda Bynes got into a car crash after the Seventeen interview this August. The 22-year-old Hairspray actress was driving her 2008 BMW X5 in Hollywood on Saturday around 2:45 p.m. when she made a left turn in front of another car, causing the two vehicles to collide. LAPD Sgt. Murrel Pettway told People magazine, "Ms. Bynes was driving a BMW when she made an unsafe turn and another car hit her. It was determined that she was at fault, but no crime was committed."

Amanda Bynes still has the 2008 BMW X5, as seen in the picture above, and she loves driving. "I like driving. It's preferred to not being behind the wheel. I've wanted to drive since I was little, so getting my license was important to me," she says. After the used Honda, Amanda bought herself a 2005 BMW X5.....and the poor thing had a minor accident with this car last year!

When she came to UK for her movie What a Girl Wants, Amanda recalls the trouble she had getting used to the driving on the left side of the road: "I think as soon as you get off the plane and get in the car, the actual driving on the other side and the driver being the passenger is just weird. It seemed to give me a headache automatically!"

And this without even driving herself....no wonder she manages to get into these minor scrapes while driving. A rich girl like her should hire a chauffeur; least she can do for the troubled US economy and the job situation! And while you're at it Amanda, get a hybrid too. The 2008 BMW X5 (Diesel engine) gives a fuel economy of 34mpg, while the petrol version gives only 24mpg.
