Hyundai unveiled its hybrid concept car, the Nuvis (photo: Larry Graham for Road and Track), at the New York International Auto Show. The Hyundai Nuvis has an estimated fuel efficiency of 34mpg in the city and 35mpg on the highway.
The Hyundai Nuvis has a six speed automatic transmission, powered by a 2.4 litre petrol engine and a 30kW electric motor. Regenerative braking charges the lithium-ion polymer battery pack. An integrated starter generator allows the engine to turn off at stops and restart automatically at acceleration.
