Porsche hybrid sportscar



Porsche has announced that it will unveil a 911 GT3 R hybrid at the Geneva Motor Show. It will have an electric front axle drive with two electric motors, each providing the car with 60kW. Surprisingly this hybrid sportscar will not have batteries, but instead a flywheel generator placed next to the driver, which will charge the electric motors.

When brakes are applied the motors will themselves turn into generators to power the flywheel. The electric motors will work with the strong 480-bhp four-liter V6 engine placed at the car’s rear.
