Amanda Bynes accused

Just a month after her car accident arrest Amanda Bynes stands accused of another hit-and-run accident. It happened on the 101 Freeway. The victim told the California Highway Patrol that 5 series BMW slammed into her and then fled....she chased the car getting a glimpse of the driver and the license plate number. The car was identified as a rental in the name of Amanda Bynes, and the victim also picked out Amanda from a mugshot. However, the city attorney is rejecting the case because there wasn't an independent witness to the accident.

Meanwhile reacting the hit-and-run accusations, Amanda Bynes posted on her twitter: "I can't help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me. I was not in any hit and runs. I don't drink so the DUI is false."

Diane Kruger hydrogen hottie

Beautiful actress Diane Kruger with her Mercedes-Benz hydrogen fuel-cell car in West Hollywood on March 27, 2012. Diane Kruger cares for the environment and has previously driven hybrid cars and a biodiesel capable truck. The hydrogen car has a range of 240 miles, and its fuel cells use the hydrogen to produce electricity and emit water vapor. German-born hottie Diane Kruger talks of her driving experience with the German automaker's hydrogen car: "I'm excited to be driving the F-cell. It's environmentally conscious, fun to drive and gets lots of attention on the streets."

Hydrogen cars have a simple engine and are cheaper than regular electric cars; but there are very few hydrogen filling stations and these cars are not sold to the general public yet. Hydrogen cars will be sold in Germany, Japan, and South Korea. In the US, fuel cell cars will be first sold in Los Angeles and Hawaii. In all these places private companies have teamed up with local governments to create a hydrogen fuel cell infrastructure. Hotties like Diane Kruger will also help to publicize these environment-friendly vehicles.

Audi races hybrid R18

German automaker Audi dominated the FIA World Endurance Championship, held at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, on May 5 2012. The turbodiesel Audi R18 ultra won the top spot followed by the hybrid Audi R18 e-tron quattro. The third and fourth spots were also won by Audi R18 hybrids with a Toyota bringing up fifth place!

Audi cars, whether hybrid or conventional, remain a popular choice among consumers. Above, Zoe Saldana with her Audi A8L. The Avatar actress did not know how to drive having lived in New York, but when she moved to LA for her movie career, Saldana tell Contact Music how she was pressured into getting her license to drive: "I had a driver that would take me to set and to all my classes. But once I stopped filming the movie, I was relying on the kindness of all my family and friends to take me to the supermarket so I could go and buy eggs and milk, and then they got tired of it and I went to the DMV and I got my license."

Zoe Saldana's first car was also an Audi: "I just got myself an Audi S6. I should have just gotten a used car and smashed it up, but I went and leased a brand new car." Actress Emma Stone drives an Audi S6, which she upgraded from her Mini Cooper.

Johanna Long youngest girl racer

19-year old Johanna Long became the youngest girl racer in history to drive in the Nationwide Series. She finished 21st in the season opening Drive4COPD 300. In an interview with USA Today Johanna talks of constant comparisons with Danica Patrick, the only other girl racer in Nascar: "I guess you expect it I guess, because people like to root for different people. But I really don't, like, compare myself to anyone else. I'm just another driver out there in a 43-car field, and I'm out there worried about myself and my car."

Johanna Long drives the #70 Foretravel Chevy Impala, in a two year deal with the ML Motorsport Nationwide team. Because of a lack of sponsors, Johanna Long can only afford to race in 21 out of the 33 races in the Nationwide schedule. On being one of the few girl racers in a male dominated sport, Johanna Long tells USA Today: "When I first started racing go-karts, I knew it was going to be about that, but I never really like to pay attention to that. I'm just another driver trying to make it in the world of NASCAR, trying to run the best I can."

Gas prices cooling down

Actress Shenae Grimes pumping gas in her Toyota Prius. Gas prices peak during the American summer driving season, but this year they have been cooling down gradually. Reaching a high of $3.926 a gallon on April 5, gas prices have been declining slowly to the current national average of $3.816 a gallon. Prices are posted daily on the AAA Fuel Gauge Report, using data compiled from more than 120,000 retail outlets around the nation by the Oil Price Information Service and by Wright Express. International oil prices are also expected to remain steady at the $100 per barrel mark, with minor fluctuations.

So Why are gas prices cooling down? Are US consumers buying less gasoline, driving scooters more than cars, or taking public transportation? Or are people riding more bikes for their physical and financial health?
